New releases occur at the start of a calendar year. People can make sure that they have the current version by comparing the year with the version - in 2008 the version will be C08.01.

The release candidate should be stable for at least a month to work out any odds and ends. This means that we should plan on branching off within the next month, perhaps sometime in December.

This new branch will include the advances to the H-like iso sequence that Ryan has done. It may include the further resolution into J-levels now planned.
